The Beauty of Ballroom

Inspired by the ballroom and voguing culture of New York's Black and Latin American communities, Sun, Teddy, and Xyza are founding ballroom communities in Southeast Asia – as safe havens from homophobia, transphobia, colorism, and HIV stigma. Their communities are the chosen families they longed for after growing up in difficult circumstances. Chan Sze-Wei's documentary tells of identity, growth, and the power of chosen families.
