I went with my family and thought we would have fun day. I was very disappointed. The place is very old and not exciting. The kids were very bored. The rides were extremely old and only 2 people in charge of the rides. In addition to that some rides were closed. I don’t recommend spending your day there.
We had two nieces from the UK visit and do the Niagara Zoo keeper experience which was excellent. Julia was their zoo keeper for the day and was amazing with girls not only making the day fun but also educational. Julia did an exceptional job in making the girls feel welcome and making sure the whole experience was fantastic value for money from interacting with otters to feeding the giraffes and Rhino. Fantastic effort Julia fantastic effort Niagara safari
The Zoo itself was great! We arrived in the afternoon and decided to have lunch first. We decided to eat at THE MEREMBE HOUSE which the website states is their main restaurant. It was what we expected- Pizza slices, burgers , fries ect. My daughter and i decided to order a cheese pizza slice, a pepperoni slice and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. It was busy so there was a bit of a wait for the order to be assembled which was understandable. When it was our turn for our order to be assembled I realized the chicken sandwich and fries was not added to the order. This was a bit annoying as we were trying to have a quick bite before we checked out the zoo. The line was quite long at this point but got back in line and reordered it. By this point my daughter’s cheese slice was sitting out on a tray, they had run out of pepperoni and They didn’t have one made so I was told it would be 10-15 minutes. My husband’s chicken sandwich, and my daughter’s cheese slice sat on a tray - so I took that to the table and waited. My main issue is not the time it took for a slice of pizza- but the staff. The customer service was seriously lacking - no apology. I was made to feel like i was annoying them by asking how long it would take. There must have been at least 7 people working and at one point they were all just standing around talking- no urgency or cares in the world. Filling personal cups from the pop machine with their straws still attached at one point touching the spout the pop came out of- another casually chatted with friend and snacked on fries directly out of the holding station. There were two other employees waiting on their lunch from another part of the zoo, while chatting with the restaurant staff they complained loudly about guests in the park. After about 15 minutes I was handed my slice by a girl- no smile no apology. The slice was half the size of my daughter’s cheese slice and was undercooked- so after waiting all that time it went in the garbage. I would have complaIned if I thought it would get me anywhere at the time- but after what i witnessed i was super it would be met with eye rolls and chatter amongst themselves. The customer service was some of the worst i have experienced- I would also suggest a food handling course for the restaurant employees as well. Trays of food are prepared on a counter accessible to the public- while waiting another patron was leaning over the food chatting with an employee- I was not expecting fine dining but some of what i was gave me the ick! Other than that the zoo was better than we expected - and we would return- however we would skip the restaurant and eat first next time!
Today, I visited Safari Niagara with my three children, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. 1. Based on the name, I had anticipated an open-range safari experience—similar to the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, ON—where visitors can observe animals in a natural, free-roaming environment via car or train. However, Safari Niagara is more of a traditional zoo, with animals housed in enclosures rather than a true safari-style setting. 2. Many of the animal enclosures were either empty or contained only one or two animals. Although the park covers a large area, the number of animals and size of the habitats felt limited and underwhelming. 3. The pricing throughout the park was quite high. For instance, giraffe feeding was $10 per person, and food and beverages were noticeably more expensive compared to other attractions such as Canada’s Wonderland or African Lion Safari. 4. On a hot summer day, it was surprising and disappointing to find that there were no water fountains available anywhere in the zoo. Visitors were required to purchase bottled water from vendors, with a small bottle costing $2.99 plus tax. 5. The park management appeared to be overly cautious about weather conditions. Despite no rainfall at the time, they shut down the Splash Pad due to the possibility of rain and thunder, asking all families and children to leave the area. This caused visible disappointment among visitors, especially the children, some of whom were in tears. In summary, I found Safari Niagara to be a disappointing experience overall. Total waste of time and money.
Today I visited Safari Niagara with my 3 kids. 1- I was wondering, as name suggests, that It must be a Safari where animals are open and people can roam around in cars or trains to view them like real nature and jungle style, just like African Lion Safari in Cambridge, ON, But unfortunately Safari Niagara has nothing like Safari, infact its a normal Zoo where animals are in cages. 2- Almost half of the cages in the Zoo are either empty or hardly has 1 or 2 animals. Zoo is occupying huge land but the cages are small or very less quantity of animals. 3- Everything is very expensive, like Giraffe feeding is $10 per person, food and beverages are too expensive compare to other parks like Canada Wonderland, African Lion Safari, etc 4- In this hot summer day, no Water fountain is available anywhere in the Zoo, you have to buy water from various stalls and small water bottle cost $2.99 + tax. 5- Park management is very "Weather Sensitive" and scared from rain or thunder. Even in Canada Wonderland, all riders are stopped during the rain and resume as soon as the rain end, but in Safari Niagara immediately stopped their only available Splash Pad, due to Rain and Thunder is expected and asked all kids and familes to go out from water, even though there was not even a Single Drop of rain, I heard people were very disappointment from this management attitude, specially some children started crying. Overall, in my honest opinion, its a total waste of money and time to visit Safari Niagara.
The zoo is large and thoughtful, spacious animal enclosures, unusually large space between the enclosures. He's driving a crocodile locomotive all over the place, free of charge. Entertainment areas - catamarans, bike cars, rides, playgrounds, high-rise lasagna, street restaurants - are well distributed throughout the park. Not many downsides, but there are. Toilets: cramped, uncomfortable and not enough, especially in the entrance group (queue for the women's toilet before leaving!!!). Queues are everywhere. On the way in, on the toilet, on the restaurant, on the trampoline, on the lassies, on the boats, on the cars. Empty enclosures - with signs but no filling. A flamingo lake without birds looked particularly sad. A little bit knocked down the fact signs placed around the area - they have nothing to do with the nearby animals, and some at all about animals that are not in the zoo (elephants, peacocks).
There’s so much to see and do here! My boyfriend and I were able to feed the hippos:))) and the animals seemed to have lots of space and care
It's dated but still fun. The shows only play once a day so if you miss it then you missed it. There's a staffing issue for sure. We were in the FunFair section, the staff would close a ride to operate another and there was a number of rides and only 3 staff. A bit sad to see. Lots of animals to see but a number of enclosure that just seem to be cement pads now. Get a Groupon or save your money.
This display is absolutely fabulous. The amount of thought, design and setup boggles your mind. The show is extensive and brilliant. You travel through at 4 kph. This gives you ample time to take it all in without missing anything. The ticket price is for a carload and you must reserve your date and time. Go for it! It's an experience not to be missed.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour made by 2 staff members at the park. I was with my family and 5 children together. Trolly driver named Bill harassed my friend by pointing right in her face and then when she told him to stop he went inches from her face to continue being belligerent until I stepped in to stop the interaction. He didn’t want her on her cell phone. Second staff member Janette in charge of the Budgie experience would not allow a mother to be with her children during the interaction. She was very rude and does not understand customer service whatsoever. This was my first time at the park and I will never go again. Harassment is absolutely unacceptable, made even worse by children being present. Do better
