Halloween New Orleans (HNO)
About This Event
Halloween New Orleans (HNO) is a gay party weekend and a circuit event that raises money for Project Lazarus, which helps people with AIDS. It started as a dinner to remember friends lost to AIDS. Now it's a big annual gathering.
Expect the Lazarus Ball on Friday night, a main costume party Saturday, and a Sunday Tea Dance that ends with a French Quarter second line parade. People go all out on costumes. The mood is definitely celebratory.
Halloween is one of New Orleans' busiest weekends. The weather's usually good. Book hotels early, especially in the French Quarter, if you want to be near the action and gay spots like Bourbon and St. Ann. You'll have fun, and your money helps a good cause.
