Drag Is Political: Queer the Vote!

Drag has always been a beacon of hope, joy, and resilience for the LGBTQ+ community, and the art form continues to rise to new heights as a vehicle for creating a better world for all. PFLAG NYC’s “Drag Is” series shines a light on the many capabilities of drag beyond the stage lights and sequins.
As we approach the 2026 midterm elections, our series returns with Drag Is Political: Queer the Vote! Join us at Someday Bar NYC in Brooklyn on Wednesday, September 30, at 8:30 p.m. Community building is an inherent value of drag, and this program will explore how we can extend that value from shows to the polls.
The first half of the evening will be a panel featuring Brooklyn-based drag queens Nancy NoGood, Reina NoBuena, and Junior Mintt, moderated by Nia Alvarez-Mapp of Common Cause New York. After the panel, Nancy and Reina will co-host a drag show with performances from all three queens.
At the event, we’ll also have information available about PFLAG NYC’s Triple-A Town Hall Network for activism, advocacy, and allyship, and someone who will help attendees check their voter registration and share more about the midterms.
