About the venue
Henrietta Hudson opened in 1991 at the corner of Hudson and Morton Streets in the West Village. It's one of the last lesbian bars left in New York. After a 2021 refit, it describes itself as a bar for queer people of all genders, but women and nonbinary people are still the core crowd…
“Henrietta Hudson's gets all my respect for Community Building. It is been a warm space for 35 years. A lesbian bar but welcoming to all of us. As a queer man, I was glad to have a space like this to bring my lesbian friends when they were visiting town because I knew the crowd would be friendly and we would all be invited in.” — Purna Rodman, Google
