About this place Marsha's

Marsha's is a queer sports bar at 430 South Street that opened in September 2025, carving out room for LGBTQ+ sports fans — with a particular welcome for queer women and nonbinary patrons — in a corner of nightlife that rarely centers them. Expect game-day screenings, team nights, drag and DJ events, and the kind of casual, come-as-you-are energy behind the recent wave of lesbian sports bars nationwide. It sits on South Street a few blocks from the Gayborhood and near Queen Village's newer queer venues, making it easy to fold into a bar crawl. Weekends and big game days draw the biggest crowds.

My first time here, will definitely return. Marsha’s is a queer/dyke sports dive bar where everyone is welcomed and treated equally. Super chill, casual, friendly vibe. Met the owner who was so kind and accommodating, gave attention to detail and special attention to dietary needs. I had the smash burger which was delicious and juicy. The standout on the plate was the generous serving of the house-made potato chips, done to a perfect light brown crisp. I could have eaten a bowl of them! The menu indicated vegan and gluten free options. Drinks were well drink quality, but strong enough. Other patrons were friendly and approachable. Monday was Trivia night. I’m glad I found this place.

It was all good until this guy came in drunk and started hanging all over women and saying totally inappropriate things and no one did anything including the bouncer who made excuses for him. Totally ruined my experience and I had to leave. Disappointed.

Not a loud, crowded scene on a Sunday evening. It was comfortable and easy to converse. The drinks were well-made, though perhaps a little pricey. A good option for a relaxed night out without too much commotion.

Folks around here seemed to know everyone, but our bartender still made time to mix our drinks quickly. Seemed a bit understaffed for how busy it was, but that didn't slow them down. A decent enough stop for a late-night catch-up.

Someone needs to get a sound engineer in here badly. For a bar, sure, having a crappy sound system is standard but when you offer your establishment events and drag etc you need to step it up. Went to a drag event here and couldn’t even hear the music to where the performers couldn’t even hear their music. Incredibly loud and overwhelming. Ticketed events but I still have to wait outside because it’s at capacity because you won’t kick out previous patrons who aren’t and haven’t paid for a show? I know you’re not new to the establishment game but damn, get it together. The system pressure for their kegs need to be looked at too, the carbonation doesn’t do their lineup justice.

My friends and I came here on a quiet weeknight. I love how it’s been updated (much nicer bathroom than the previous bar ;) they have Great happy hour deals(late night too). The bartender was nice and efficient. FIFA was on tv, which was great! We each got a hot dog (there are different varieties) with tots(different varieties too). Freshly made and delicious. Prices were good. We’re all different (straight couple, gay male friend), but all felt welcomed and comfortable. It was easy to talk until the staff were all loudly talking loudly with each other. No big deal- we’ll definitely be back to try other food. Check out!
