Utah Pride Festival
About This Event
Utah Pride is the state's biggest LGBTQ+ event and the main fundraiser of the Utah Pride Center, which is why the Center's money troubles hit it directly. The 2023 festival cost about $1.5 million more than the year before while revenue stayed flat, security alone passed $300,000, and the Center laid off staff, sold its building and cut production spending for 2024. It has steadied since: the 2026 edition added new events and brought back the Youth Zone after a two-year pause.
The weekend follows a fixed order. Saturday at 10am a rally on the south steps of the State Capitol leads straight into a march. The ticketed festival fills Washington Square, the City and County Building grounds, on Saturday and Sunday. The parade steps off Sunday at 10am near Temple Square and runs along 100 South to 400 East.
Practical: in 2026 festival tickets were $20 for adults, $10 for ages 13 to 17, $5 for under-13s and $35 for both days; the rally, march and parade are free. A 21+ foam party opened Friday night for $30.
Pride week ran 3 to 7 June 2026 under the theme "Pride Elevated", with the festival on 6 and 7 June. The Center describes attendance only as tens of thousands, and we found no independent count, so we dropped the 50,000 figure. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked; the festival usually lands on the first full weekend of June.
