About this place Downtown Emergency Services Center (DESC)

The Downtown Emergency Services Center (DESC) is a major player in Seattle's efforts to help people without homes. It’s not just about getting people off the streets; they aim to get them back on their feet for good. DESC runs clinics and housing specifically for people experiencing homelessness. They’re trying to tackle both immediate problems and bigger, long-term goals. Many LGBTQ+ individuals and families use or have connections to these services, as homelessness hits that community harder than others. So if you’re an LGBTQ+ traveler looking at Seattle’s social support systems, or just curious about how the city deals with people without housing, DESC is a big piece of that picture. Their website lays out their programs and mission. You can learn how they try to help people take back control of their lives. If you want to volunteer, donate, or just understand Seattle's approach to homelessness, DESC's work gives you a real look at one of the Pacific Northwest’s most urgent problems.

So far Dan Malone won't tell me what Sarah Marks did with my property and ruined my entire life 😭 I don't recommend dealing with these people my building had rats and roaches so bad that it was impossible to function I got really sick as a result and after years of being homeless they threw me into the streets even though I didn't do anything wrong

Beyond terrible. Refused to provide me services based on a condition that I don’t even have. Happy to send me away unsatisfied.
