Tampa Pride
About This Event
Tampa Pride ran its Diversity Parade and street festival in Ybor City every March from 2015. The last one was on 29 March 2025: a street festival from 11am, with performances in the Cuban Club courtyard, and a 4pm parade east along 7th Avenue.
In September 2025 the Tampa Pride board cancelled the 2026 parade and festival. It cited lost corporate sponsorship, cuts to county, state and federal grants, and Florida's rollback of DEI programs, and it called the pause a one-year hiatus. Earlier that summer the board had also chosen not to renew longtime president Carrie West's contract. When we checked, the board had said nothing about 2027.
A new nonprofit, Pride of Tampa, filled the gap. Its first festival, on 28 March 2026 at the Cuban Club, drew an estimated 5,500 people, according to Watermark. The day ended with a march to an after-party on 7th Avenue. Its leaders say they want a bigger event in 2027 and possibly a parade, but no date or format had been announced when we checked.
