Queer Self-Assertion & Self-Defense (Basic Workshop)

On November 7, 2026, we will offer our second basic workshop "Queer Self-Assertion and Self-Defense" for all queer people in and around Karlsruhe. What awaits you at this day event? "Self-defense begins in the head." Everyone can develop the willingness to defend themselves in any situation where they are not treated with respect. The workshop focuses on recognizing forms of violence, reflecting on one's own perspectives, and learning, trying out, and practicing strategies for everyday life. Role-playing and exercises on body language teach participants confident demeanor and verbal means of self-assertion. In physical training, participants learn techniques that enable them to defend themselves immediately and effectively in direct physical attacks. Mental exercises train self-confidence in one's own strength. The seminar will be led by Astrid Neumann (she/her). She has been leading seminars in feminist self-assertion and self-defense at In Nae e.V. since 2020. The number of participants is limited to 12.
