On behalf of the Bloomfield family we’d like to thank the Hotel Motueka for hosting the funeral service of our beloved Shayne. From our first enquiry we found the owner helpful, compassionate, friendly and organised. She explained the best space in the hotel, the rear function room. It was well appointed. The staff set up chairs, sound system, and microphones for us. Hotel Motueka catered fresh and good finger food for a reasonable price. They also gave the option that if the food we chose wasn’t enough, they could put more on. It was very private from the front bar. We had access through the front and the back, a good breakout area at the side, the PA system was very clear. The bar in this room was well staffed and service was quick throughout. More than anything else we appreciate that we were not hurried out at the end. Nobody invasively cleaned up around us while we were there. Nobody rushed us out. Our music playlist was still on when our last family member left. Huge thanks to team Hotel Motueka. While you can certainly have a great Saturday night here, we can also recommend you consider having your final goodbyes here. It’s a great place to raise a glass to those good times past. Other notes: plenty of parking, vintage hotel features like lead light glass doors and art deco wallpaper, serving all the locally loved beers on tap, freshly painted facade in historic colours. 5 stars for nostalgia.

Nowhere else I'd rather go for a Guinness, great staff! They also run a booze bus so people don't drink drove which I love :)

Stayed here because had an available room with ensuite and Mountain View. Arrived and claimed it was inaccessible, given smaller room with view of building next door and no ensuite. Was charged same amount, I think it was only a $10 difference so the money isn’t the issue just more so it was the reason we booked there - then when asking about where to get change for their laundry - were made to feel like we were a complete inconvenience and the lady acted exasperated with whatever else she was busy with I guess. Dryer sounded like the deathly hollows, but better than no washing I suppose. I will say, it felt less like a hotel (which every accommodation claiming “hotel” I’ve stayed at in NZ has had complimentary washer/dryers) and more like a restaurant with motel rooms on the side. Completely fine with me - if I knew that I’d expect this experience which is more in line with a low end motel and to also expect the cigarette smoke that wafts throughout upstairs and the rooms from the out front bar/restaurant patio. No guest discount at restaurant / bar we were made aware of. Ultimately felt we could have just went to the rv park in our camper van and shared bathroom facilities just as well, and then had cooking facilities available to us.. but it still worked fine for us - just know what to expect.

Extremely pleased with our room. Quiet location only a few minutes drive town. The room was presented well. Freshly painted, new furnishings and carpet. Large windows over look the lawn and garden and garden. My only criticism is that they didn't replace the light fittings when renovating.overal good value.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Waitangi Weekend in a Two Bedroom Apartment. It was very clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable. Great shower pressure and kitchen amenities. We stayed in unit 11, great for the kids, the playground is within view and the pool is directly in front of you. The managers were friendly and helpful and a quick drive to the town centre. We will be back to stay again, thanks very much!
