Mango Square, on General Maxilom (Mango) Avenue, is the long-standing centre of Cebu's gay nightlife and the most frequently cited informal cruising spot in the city. After dark the plaza, its surrounding bars and the mall's upper-floor comfort rooms draw a mixed late-night crowd, and discreet contact between men is common. This is a tolerated, unofficial scene rather than an organized venue. Same-sex activity is fully legal in the Philippines, but public indecency ordinances still apply in Cebu — keep interactions discreet and move anything beyond conversation to a private space. The area attracts petty thieves and hustlers late at night, so secure your valuables, be wary of "money boys," and ideally go with someone you trust.
