What reviewers say

Visitors praise Spazio Murat as a beautiful and well-organized space for shopping local artisan products and for its excellent location for conferences, with some finding the exhibits interesting. However, a common complaint is the lack of frequent exhibitions and poor publicity for events, with one visitor also noting it can be windy inside.

About this place Spazio Murat

Spazio Murat is a municipal cultural complex in Piazza del Ferrarese — the central waterfront square at the boundary between Bari Vecchia (the old town) and the 19th-century expansion. While not exclusively LGBTQ+, the space has been a consistent host of Pride-related programming, queer film festivals, art exhibitions and community events organised by Arcigay Bari and associated organisations. The location is exceptional: directly on the Adriatic waterfront, at the edge of the labyrinthine Bari Vecchia. Evening events here in summer combine cultural programming with one of the finest seaside settings in southern Italy. Check the programme online as events are irregular.

Aside from a permanent stand selling Apulian artisan products, there are few opportunities to see exhibitions or similar events for which the space was created, and which the manager should primarily be concerned with. It should also be noted that exhibitions and shows (when they occur) are rarely publicized, but this is consistent with the way culture is managed in our area.
