Workshop: Queer Scene - Prevention of Sexual Violence in Nightlife

ŠKUC Cultural Center Q and Rejvutopija invite all current, future, or former party-goers to a workshop on preventing sexual violence in nightlife.

In queer clubs, bars, and various events, many of us can feel safer than in everyday life because these spaces allow us to freely live our gender and sexuality. However, these are also spaces where someone can cross our personal boundaries in interpersonal interactions, or we can accidentally cross the boundaries of others. Because we want all individuals to feel safe and supported while enjoying nightlife, we want to open a discussion with you about sexual violence and consent, and especially focus on how we can respond in situations of psychosocial distress, violence, or discrimination.

The workshop will take the form of a guided discussion and group work. We will draw examples from our field experience in nightlife in anonymous form, and we invite you to share (positive or negative) situations you have found yourself in.

The event is part of the "Stop HIV" program, implemented by the ŠKUC Association with the support of the Ministry of Health.

In addition to its own contribution, the program of the Q Cultural Center is supported by the Youth Office and the Department of Health and Social Welfare of the City of Ljubljana, the Republic of Slovenia Public Fund for Youth Activities and the Slovenian Book Agency.
