Tomorrow
Towers. Sirens.: poetic-musical ritual by Aleš Šteger and Jure Tori
About the event
At the beginning of the 18th reading season of the adult reading badge "Let's Open Books," we invite you to a special artistic ritual that combines top literature and virtuosic accordion music. The project stems from two of Šteger's book publications: the essay collection "Biti uho – Za življenje v čuječnosti" (Being an Ear – For a Life in Mindfulness) on the necessity of active listening, and the poetry collection "Stolpi" (Towers).
Aleš Šteger is one of the most internationally recognized Slovenian literary figures. His works are translated into more than 20 languages, and he has received numerous domestic and foreign awards for his work. He is a member of prestigious academies in Berlin and Darmstadt. His performance is not just a reading but a physical interpretation of poetry bordering on a theatrical event.
Jure Tori is an accordionist and composer with a unique authorial sound. His music moves between the melancholy of jazz, the energy of ethno, and the warmth of tango. He is the founder of the groups Tori Tango and Orlek, and regularly performs with his projects on international stages from Europe to Asia.
