FILM SCREENING: Acuerpadas. Until justice is served
About the event
Join Birmingham Friends of the Earth for a free screening of Acuerpadas. Until Justice is Served, a documentary exploring the experiences of women defending their land, communities and rights in Honduras and beyond.
The screening will be followed by a discussion exploring the themes raised in the documentary and their connections to environmental justice and corporate accountability.
Post-screening discussion
Following the documentary, we’ll be joined online by Guillermo Otano Jiménez from Fundación Alboan, a sociologist, researcher and activist whose work focuses on human development, natural resource governance and the socio-environmental impacts of extractive industries
Together, we’ll explore the issues raised in the documentary and their links to Planet Over Profit, a Friends of the Earth campaign calling for stronger laws to hold companies accountable for human rights abuses and environmental harm.
