About this place Tom's

For those seeking a more intimate and adventurous experience in Buenos Aires, Tom's offers a discreet cruising environment. Located in the San Nicolás neighborhood, this long-running venue is a well-known spot within the city's queer scene. Access is via a basement entrance at Viamonte 638, marked only by the building number, adding to its private atmosphere. Inside, visitors will find a layout designed for exploration and connection, including DVD booths, a maze-like structure, a darkroom, and a dedicated leather basement area. As a cruising area, the expectation here is a focus on anonymity and casual encounters, catering to a specific segment of the LGBTQ+ community. While it's a bar, the primary function goes beyond traditional socializing, offering private spaces for patrons. The vibe is generally understood to be discreet and focused on exploration. Buenos Aires has a vibrant and diverse LGBTQ+ scene, and venues like this represent a facet of that, providing spaces for connection that differ from the more public-facing bars and clubs. When visiting, remember that discretion is key. The venue is situated in a central area, accessible from Avenida Florida, making it relatively easy to find once you know the address. The setup with multiple areas like DVD booths, a maze, a darkroom, and a leather basement suggests a space designed for varied preferences within the cruising context. It's a long-established spot, indicating a consistent presence and clientele within the local gay community.

It's closed. I went a few weeks ago and there was nothing there... they should clarify that.

It's very expensive and nobody goes... What a shame they can't realize they're going to lose a traditional place. They took away its best feature, the lounge with the orange seats, and replaced them with some buckets and a mattress where nobody goes. A real shame.

A very nice place. It has a nightclub and a bar. The service is excellent, as is the cleanliness. You'll find a diverse audience and very good events.
