About the event

Shows take place on September 19 and 20 at Clube do Choro and CCBB, and bring together different generations connected to bossa nova
On one hand, a young composer who chose bossa nova as his musical territory and has been sharing stages with historical names of the genre. On the other, a performer with over four decades dedicated to Brazilian music and a career also marked by dialogue with bossa nova. Theo Bial and Márcia Tauil are the next guests of Tom e Vinicius, a project presented by the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Brasília. The artists perform on Saturday, September 19, at Clube do Choro, and on Sunday, September 20, at CCBB Brasília.

The encounter brings together two moments of Brazilian music. At 28, Theo is part of a generation that approaches bossa nova from a contemporary perspective, while Márcia brings over four decades of career as a singer and composer. In common, they have a relationship built with Brazilian song and bossa nova, paths that now converge to the repertoire of Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes.
At 28, Theo Bial defines himself as voluntarily affiliated with bossa nova, without neglecting his identification with samba and MPB. In 2025, he took this relationship with the genre to Japan, where he performed eight shows at Blue Note Tokyo alongside Roberto Menescal and the Japanese-Brazilian singer Lisa Ono. The partnership with Menescal also resulted in “Brisa que mora no mar,” released in the same year.
