Florianópolis Gay Carnival 2027

Florianópolis Gay Carnival pulls in over 50,000 people. It’s one of Brazil's biggest LGBTQ+ events. The city, called "Ilha da Magia" (Magic Island), totally changes for it: parades, street parties, circuit events.

You’ll see samba schools, live shows, and a drag queen beauty contest. The Pop Gay Party is big. It’s got a lot of energy and drag queen competitions. Beyond that, Florianópolis has over 40 beaches. Praia Mole and Praia Galheta are popular with gay men during Carnival.

Carnival means street parties, or "blocos," all over. The Blocos dos Sujos is a parade where men cross-dress. While party venues shift, a lot happens downtown, near Avenida Paulo Fontes and Praça Fernando Machado, and right on the beach. Book your hotel early. The city fills up fast.
