São Paulo Gay Pride 2027
About This Event
The São Paulo LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade is the biggest pride event in the world. By any measure. It started in 1997. By 2006, Guinness World Records called it the planet's biggest. Now, somewhere between 3 and 5 million people pack Avenida Paulista for the annual march. That makes it not just the largest gay event on Earth, but one of the largest public gatherings, full stop.
2026 is the 30th edition of São Paulo Pride. A big number. The parade itself runs down Avenida Paulista, São Paulo's main drag, usually all office towers and cultural institutions. For the day, it's all rainbow flags. Expect over 20 floats, sound systems cranked to eleven, and thousands of groups marching. It’s a lot.
São Paulo's pride parade shows you Brazil's complicated truth: a country with a lively queer culture, but also real threats to queer rights. The parade is always political, not just a party. Every year has a theme, picked to confront whatever the community's up against right then.
