Last verified: October 2026. Las Vegas has no gay hotel right now. Bent Inn was the gay-owned, adults-only 33-room inn on East Ogden Avenue downtown. It opened in 2023, closed in September 2024, reopened in spring 2025 and announced another closure in November 2025. Its listings still show it as closed in autumn 2026. Rumor, the poolside boutique on East Harmon that once drew a gay crowd, is also listed as closed. We could not verify any men-only or clothing-optional resort operating in the city. So you're choosing between mainstream hotels, and one fact decides a gay trip: there isn't a single gay bar on the Strip. The bars are a mile or more east. The Fruit Loop on Paradise Road has Gipsy, Piranha and QuadZ. A second cluster on East Twain Avenue has Fun Hog Ranch, Flex and Dust. A few more sit out on East Flamingo and East Sahara. This guide covers which hotels let you walk home from those bars, what the Strip really costs once fees and tax are added, and how Sin City Classic and Pride affect booking.

Where to sleep, in real minutes

The walkable gay zone in Las Vegas is small. It's the stretch of Paradise Road between East Harmon Avenue and East Tropicana Avenue. Gipsy is at 4605 Paradise, Piranha at 4633 and QuadZ across the road at 4640. QuadZ and Gipsy are a couple of minutes apart, so if you sleep within 400 metres of that corner you can do the whole Fruit Loop on foot. Everything else needs a short drive.

Fun Hog Ranch and Flex are next door to each other at 495 and 501 East Twain Avenue, and Dust is about 10 minutes further east at 855 East Twain. That cluster is 27–30 minutes on foot from Gipsy along Paradise Road, and nobody does that walk twice. The Garage and Hamburger Mary's are on East Flamingo near Maryland Parkway, 28–30 minutes from the Fruit Loop. Badlands and the Entourage bathhouse share the old Commercial Center mall on East Sahara. Adonis is out on East Flamingo past Eastern, and The Phoenix is on West Sahara, on the far side of the interstate.

Las Vegas is flat, so the minutes below are honest. Hills aren't the problem. Heat is: afternoons hit 40°C from June to September. So are six-lane roads with long gaps between crossings.

The Fruit Loop: Paradise Road and East Harmon

This is the only part of the city where a gay visitor can walk home. Alexis Park All Suite Resort at 375 East Harmon is 2–3 minutes from Gipsy in our listings and 3–5 minutes from QuadZ, with Piranha on the same corner. It has no casino, which makes it quiet by Vegas standards. You get two-room suites with kitchenettes in low buildings set around pools. Solo travellers reviewing it in 2026 praised the staff and the calm. It has a long history with gay travellers and has hosted gay pool events in the past. We couldn't confirm whether any are on during your dates, so check the hotel's event calendar. There's no club on site, so noise is low. At 3 am the walk from Piranha back to the gates is short, lit and busy with rideshares.

The former Hard Rock at 4455 Paradise Road reopened in 2021 as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. It's about 6–8 minutes north of Gipsy on foot. It's a full casino resort with a pool scene, so you get the Fruit Loop on your doorstep and a casino under your room. Confirm the current branding before booking. Rumor, at 455 East Harmon next to Alexis Park, is listed as closed, and the Rumor name came off the building after a 2017 sale. Ignore any old booking pages for it.

Paradise Road north to Twain

Silver Sevens at 4100 Paradise Road is halfway between the two clusters: 13–16 minutes south to Gipsy and 12–15 minutes north to Fun Hog Ranch and Flex. It's a cheap locals' casino with smoke on the gaming floor and rooms that have seen better decades. The pavement along Paradise is wide and lit, but it runs past offices and car parks, so at 3 am it's empty rather than dangerous. Walk it with someone, or spend the few dollars on a car.

The central Strip

Most gay visitors still sleep here. The shows, pools and restaurants are here, and a rideshare to Paradise Road takes 8–12 minutes outside peak traffic. Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas are 2 minutes apart at the Flamingo Road corner and are the Sin City Classic base. On foot, either is 29–34 minutes from Gipsy via Harmon or Flamingo. Flamingo Las Vegas, The Linq and Harrah's are 27–30 minutes from the Twain bars and a little more to the Fruit Loop. Planet Hollywood sits on Harmon itself, so the Fruit Loop is one straight road east (29–32 minutes). Caesars Palace and Bellagio are on the west side of the boulevard, which adds a bridge crossing and 5 more minutes to every trip east. The rooms upstairs are quiet enough. The smoke and the 24-hour noise stay on the casino floors.

North-centre: Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn

These are the best-placed luxury rooms for the Twain cluster. Wynn Las Vegas is 21–24 minutes from Fun Hog Ranch in our listings, The Palazzo 23–26 and The Venetian 25–28. The walk crosses Koval Lane and Paradise past convention halls that are deserted at night. By car it's 5–8 minutes. Further north, Fontainebleau Las Vegas (opened December 2023) is 28–31 minutes from Entourage and Badlands on East Sahara and 31–34 from Fun Hog. The STRAT is 20–23 minutes from Entourage. From either hotel, take a car at night.

South Strip and the Koval Lane motels

MGM Grand is 27–30 minutes from Gipsy, the closest of the giant resorts at the south end. Its Skylofts upstairs are the private version with a butler. New York New York, Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay are cheaper but 35 minutes or more from any gay bar, so plan to rideshare everywhere. On Koval Lane, the Travelodge Ambassador Strip Inn is a basic motel 22–25 minutes from Gipsy, with free parking if you have a car.

Downtown and Fremont East

Downtown is about 15 minutes by car from the Fruit Loop. With Bent Inn closed, there are three reasons to stay here: Pride parade night (the parade is downtown at 4th Street and Bridger Avenue), cheaper rooms and the Arts District restaurants. The D is 3–5 minutes from the parade start area, Four Queens and Golden Nugget 4–6, El Cortez 8–10 and the California Hotel 9–11. Under the Fremont canopy the music runs late, so ask for a high floor. The Latino Backdoor Lounge on East Charleston is the only gay bar on this side of town.

There are three hostels on South Las Vegas Boulevard: Bungalows, Sin City Hostel and Bposhtels. They're 22–25 minutes from the parade site and about 11–13 minutes from The LGBTQ+ Center, but that stretch of the boulevard has few people on it at night. Use a car after dark.

West of the interstate

Palace Station, The Lexi, Palms Place and the Rio are good value. The only gay bar nearby is The Phoenix on West Sahara, 33 minutes on foot from Palace Station. Everything else is a 10–20 minute drive. Only stay here if you have a car and a reason.

Gay-owned, men-only and clothing-optional

In October 2026 the honest list is empty. Bent Inn & Lounge, at 1108 East Ogden Avenue downtown, was the city's only gay-owned hotel. It had 33 rooms in a converted mid-century motel, adults only, and its pool bar worked as a community lounge. It opened in October 2023 and shut in September 2024 during a lien dispute with its builder. A refinancing let it reopen in 2025, and it posted a second closure notice on 12 November 2025. Its review listings were still marked closed in August 2026. If it reopens, that will be news. Until then, don't book it through any third-party page that still shows rates.

Rumor Boutique Hotel on East Harmon, never gay-owned but popular with gay guests for its pool, is listed as closed. We could not verify any men-only resort, clothing-optional guesthouse or gay-run B&B operating in Las Vegas or Henderson in 2026. Most gay guests sleep in mainstream resorts. The ones who care about walking home pick Alexis Park or the former Hard Rock on Paradise Road. Nevada law bans discrimination by hotels and other businesses on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. Two men asking for one king bed on the Strip won't get a second look.

The men-only spaces that do exist are bathhouses, not hotels. Entourage Vegas is in the Commercial Center on East Sahara and Adonis is on East Flamingo. Both are a drive from every hotel listed here, and both are clubs, not places to stay.

Booking rules that bite

    • Room tax. It's 13.38% inside the Primary Gaming Corridor (the Strip and resort area) and 13% elsewhere in the city and county, according to the City of Las Vegas room-tax guidance revised in March 2026. It's charged on the room rate and the resort fee.
    • Resort fees. Almost every casino resort adds a nightly resort fee. On the Strip it's commonly about US$40–60 plus tax, and downtown it's usually lower. Since May 2025, federal rules require hotels to show the total price up front, so compare the all-in figure, not the headline rate. Alexis Park and the hostels charge less or nothing; confirm when you book.
    • Deposits. Expect a hold on your card for extras, often about US$50–150 a night. On a debit card that's real money you won't see again until a week or so after checkout.
    • Age. Most casino hotels require the person checking in to be 21.
    • Visitors. Las Vegas has no visitor (joiner) fees and no police registration of guests. What most big resorts do have is security at the lifts, where staff check room keys. A date without a key can't go up alone. You'll have to meet him at the lifts, and security may note his ID. Hotels will only issue a second key to someone named on the reservation.
    • The golden tip. Book for two guests even if you arrive alone. The rate rarely changes, the front desk can add a name and issue a second key without fuss, and there's no surprise extra-person charge.
    • Minimum stays and price spikes. Rates swing hugely. A weeknight room can cost four times as much on a fight night, a big convention or a holiday weekend, and two-night Friday–Saturday minimums are common when the city is full. Check the convention calendar before you commit.
    • Smoking. Hotel rooms are non-smoking. Smoking or vaping cannabis in a room triggers a cleaning fee that can run to hundreds of dollars, so check the amount in your booking terms.

The gay calendar and where to book for it

Sin City Classic: 14–18 January 2027

This is the event that matters most for hotel demand. The Greater Los Angeles Softball Association runs it over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, and it brings thousands of LGBTQ+ athletes in more than 20 sports, from softball to bridge to wrestling. The hub is Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, with registration at the Horseshoe on 15 January. Teams book the host blocks through the tournament. If you're going independently, book Horseshoe, Paris, Flamingo or The Linq now rather than in January. Read the cancellation terms first, because prepaid MLK weekend rates are usually non-refundable. The Fruit Loop bars are packed all weekend, which makes Alexis Park the smart second choice.

Las Vegas Pride: 2027 dates TBA

Las Vegas holds Pride in October, when the desert cools down. The 2026 edition, the 43rd, has just finished. The Night Parade ran downtown at 4th Street and Bridger Avenue on Friday 9 October 2026, and the festival filled Desert Breeze Events Center on Saturday 17 October, with ten days of events in between. The organisers hadn't announced 2027 dates as of October 2026. For the parade, book downtown (The D, Four Queens, Golden Nugget, El Cortez). The festival is out west in Spring Valley, about the same car ride from any Strip hotel. For parade night, book downtown as soon as the date is published.

Everything else

Gay pool parties, circuit events and bear weekends come and go in Las Vegas, usually between spring and early autumn. They're run by Strip day clubs or promoters, not a fixed organiser. We couldn't confirm 2027 dates from an organiser for any of them as of October 2026. Check the promoter's channels before you plan a weekend around a party.

Getting back at 3 am

From the airport. Harry Reid International is about 5 km south of the Fruit Loop. A taxi or rideshare to Paradise Road takes 10–15 minutes and costs about US$20–35 including airport fees, and it's similar to the central Strip. RTC buses run north from the airport along Paradise Road, past the Fruit Loop and on towards downtown. They're cheap and slow; check late-night frequency in the rideRTC app before you rely on one.

From the bars. Uber and Lyft both work well, and they're how most people get between the Fruit Loop, Twain and the Strip. Expect 8–12 minutes to the central Strip. Taxis queue at every resort. The catch comes when you leave a resort: you have to use its designated rideshare pick-up, often a 10-minute walk through the casino and car park, so allow time. The Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip around the clock but doesn't go to Paradise Road. The Monorail runs behind the east side of the Strip, doesn't run through the night and has no station at the Fruit Loop.

On foot. Inside the Fruit Loop (Gipsy, Piranha, QuadZ, Alexis Park) walking is fine at any hour. Harmon Avenue from Paradise to the Strip is lit and walkable but takes half an hour. Paradise between Harmon and Twain, and the route from the Twain bars to the Strip, are long empty stretches, so take a car. Avoid walking Las Vegas Boulevard between the STRAT and downtown at night. Summer nights stay above 30°C, so carry water if you do walk.

Health, safety and the law

Clinics. The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada at 401 South Maryland Parkway is the first place to call for HIV and STI testing and PrEP information; confirm hours before going. The Southern Nevada Health District runs a sexual health clinic at its main building on South Decatur Boulevard. PEP has to start within 72 hours, and any hospital emergency department or urgent care clinic can prescribe it. Bring your insurance details, because US healthcare is expensive without cover.

App dates. Meet in the lobby or a casino bar first, where there are cameras and security, and walk him up through the key check yourself. Lock passports and cash in the room safe. The usual Vegas loss is theft rather than violence: a guest who leaves with your wallet or phone, or a spiked drink. We found no verified 2025–2026 pattern of incidents aimed at gay visitors. That's no reason to skip the basics.

Drugs. Possessing controlled drugs, including GHB, meth and cocaine, is a crime in Nevada, and hotels will evict you and bill for damage. Chemsex in a resort room leaves you one knock from security away from a police matter.

Cannabis and tobacco. Cannabis is legal for adults 21 and over from licensed dispensaries. You can't use it in public, in casinos or in hotel rooms; licensed consumption lounges are the legal option. Tobacco smoking is still allowed on most casino floors and in bars that don't serve food, which includes several gay bars. If you don't smoke, look at Vdara, which is smoke-free and has no casino.

Rights. Same-sex sex and marriage are legal nationwide, and Nevada adds state protections in housing, employment and services open to the public. If a wedding is the point of the trip, the chapels here have married same-sex couples for years.

Three picks

Budget: Silver Sevens. It's cheap and unglamorous, and it's the only hotel in our listings within a quarter-hour walk of both the Fruit Loop and Twain Avenue. You save on the room and on rideshares.

Mid-range: Alexis Park All Suite Resort. It's 2–3 minutes from Gipsy, with no casino, suites with kitchenettes and pools between low buildings. With no gay hotel left, its location makes it the nearest thing to one. Booking sites in 2026 list rooms from about US$80 on quiet weeknights.

Splurge: Wynn Las Vegas. It has some of the best rooms on the Strip and is the closest luxury option to the Twain bars: 21–24 minutes on foot to Fun Hog Ranch, or a 5-minute car ride, then back to floor-to-ceiling windows.
