Very comfortable and hygienic
One of my favorite places from my central america travels. Humble but clean with a good kitchen and the hostel is in a good neighborhood.
Overall, it's old and not very clean. There's no air conditioning, so it gets a bit hot depending on the time of day, and there were several mosquitoes flying around. There aren't enough charging outlets for all the beds. The Wi-Fi does connect, but it's very slow at around 3Mbps and occasionally disconnects. No towels provided, the shower has lukewarm water but the drain is clogged and water pools on the floor, the water pressure is fine, and there's no hairdryer. It might be okay for people used to staying in dormitories looking for cheap accommodation. Those unfamiliar with dormitories might be better off avoiding it.
I had a really good stay and I stayed longer I thought because at the end if you have time and take it easy, there is much to do in the city! The location is super quiet and I felt really safe. You have many things around, little shops, bars. It's a 30 min walk from Plaza Salvador Del Mundo from where you get any bus you want to go anywhere around the city! Or around the corner you can get another bus to go there. There are private and shared rooms, I was in the dorm and I really felt good, it was big enough, not busy at all and there was the big walk in wardrobe (another little room basically) with a lot of space for everyone to store your bags and clothes! There are extra toilets around the "house" but in the room there is also a private bathroom with shower, big and clean like the rest of the building! There are also small lockers outside if you want to keep your valuable things, you just need your own lock. All the receptionist were great, so patience and friendly and helpful. The kitchen was nice and you could use it until a certain time in the evening... there is a blender, coffee machine, water to drink. Space to store your food and a fridge to use. Big dining room, couches and outside a really nice terrace to get the sun during the day which is sooo hot! We were 3 backpackers that left all at the same time, we got a picture because they were surprised we would be there all strangers at the same time, but I never got it, who know if the receptionist read this and recognize me and send it!!!
Very good value for money. Coffee is offered in the morning, but using the coffee maker is prohibited! It might be simpler if it were removed after use! The use of drinking water is also monitored and limited.
Excellent location, service, and pleasant, well-equipped facilities. I received excellent treatment. They even helped me store my luggage one day while I waited for my apartment to be ready. Highly recommended. Always.
