Penrose Pride Parade

The Penrose Pride Parade is real, and it is tiny: a one-hour neighborhood walk in Penrose, South Arlington, Virginia, co-sponsored by the Penrose Neighborhood Association and Equality Arlington. It starts at Butler-Holmes Park on South Barton Street at 1pm on a late-June Sunday, and anyone can join with a flag or a homemade sign. The fifth edition ran on June 22, 2025. The sixth, set for June 28, 2026, was cancelled because of bad weather. This is a local street-level event, not a destination pride; Capital Pride in Washington, D.C. is just across the Potomac. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
