About this place The Fireplace Inn

The Fireplace Inn, at 1448 North Wells Street, has served BBQ in Chicago for over 40 years. It’s not an LGBTQ+ spot, not officially, but it’s welcoming—and a good bet if you’re after solid ribs.

North Wells Street has long had a queer presence, so it’s an easy enough place to land if you’re exploring. Come for the barbecue, stay for the low-key vibe. It’s casual, no fuss.

You can find their menu and hours at fireplaceinn.com. It’s the kind of place you go for comfort food, nothing fancy, just a relaxed meal.
