Gardner Hotel & Hostel

I went for the BTS concert and also stayed a few more days to explore the area. I booked a shared room and I really liked it; it's a comfortable place and they provide daily service. The staff is very friendly, the location is quite central, and the tram and bus stops are just steps away. There are also several very good restaurants nearby.

My stay was all right it is an old hotel most likely you'll have to ask for earplugs because there's noise outside from people walking out of the bars that are next door. I didn't need any I was already tired when I got up to the room. If you're looking for a place to sleep at a really low rate for the area that it's in. I said that because the hotels are fairly expensive in that area.

This is a historic hotel in El Paso. It's conveniently located downtown, not far from the Amtrak station. I really wanted to stay at this hotel and had made a reservation in advance, but I couldn't confirm it, so I made another reservation online on the day of arrival, resulting in a double booking. However, they understood my situation and canceled the first reservation for me. I was very surprised, as I had heard that cancellations are strict in America, and I truly felt the hotel's cowboy code. I would like to stay here again when I visit El Paso.

This was I think our favorite place so far on our road trip. The outside looks a bit old which it is but don't let that fool you. Walk into your room and be amazingly happy. Then walk through the double doors to the courtyard and it takes your breath away. The service was fast and wonderful when we walked in last minute for a room. Also the value for the dollar is great and we absolutely recommend the island sun inn.

I am absolutely grateful for this place for not canceling our 3 month in advanced booked reservation for May 2nd and reselling for a higher price because a K-pop group came into town! This place was so charming! If you love historical buildings and all that comes with it, I highly recommend staying here. There's a self serving kitchen, washer and dryer and lounge/game/tv area. The staff is so nice and answered any questions we had. If we ever came back to El Paso for any reason, we would stay here again ✨️

I stayed at this hotel for the BTS concert in El Paso, and honestly, there were good and bad things. I stayed in the hostel area, and the beds were very clean, but the carpet looked dirty, and the doors were very noisy and outdated. For example, the reservation doesn't specify that you not only have to share the bathroom with the four people in your room but also with the four people in the next room, so eight people sharing a small bathroom—it's simply not practical. Furthermore, the double-lock system for the door is completely ineffective, which led to a problem we had. Those of us in my room left the locks unlocked and went to the BTS concert all day. When we returned, the people in the other room told us to leave the bathroom unlocked, even though we had already left it unlocked. Then the front desk attendant, a white (American) man, came and yelled at us about it. We told him to come check the room, as it was unlocked. He refused and just told us that "we had to leave it open because the people in the other room had also paid," as if we had done it intentionally. When we tried to explain, he just rudely told us, "I have to go back to the counter" (in English), leaving us talking to ourselves. What a rude person, and thanks to him, the bad rating. Because the other girl, who I think is the only one who speaks Spanish, is super friendly and attentive. They also helped us with our luggage. Another guy, who is also American but super friendly, offered us coffee and was also kind. The problem was this rude person. The location is super convenient, very central, so if you're going to an event, I think it's fine, but be aware that you have to go up stairs, and if you lose the key, they charge you $25, and if you leave a stain, they charge you too. My experience was mostly good, but I wouldn't go back.
