Irving House at Harvard

Good value for the money, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. Coffee all day in the lobby was nice.

Great place for inexpensive non-family living nearby Harvard University. Walking distance from Harvard yard. Room and ambiance was clean and safe. Service was excellent. Shared restroom wasn’t even an issue for my solo trip. Plenty of restrooms and I always found them available, accessible, and clean. Complimentary breakfast was great as usual. Only issue was it wasn’t that quiet was room was small and walls were thinner. Outside noise can be an issue if you don’t like noise during your sleep.

The staff is friendly, the breakfast is quite good, on a quiet street. It is a house, one can hear other guests, the bed was soft for my taste, and checkout was placing keys in a basket. It is about as close to Harvard as can be, and rates seemed reasonable.

I like the place so much. I book a double bed room shared bath. It is pretty small but fit two of us well. The bathroom is a few steps outside the room. There are 2 full baths on each floor. I didn’t have to wait anytime. The staff are so friendly. They serve the breakfast and there is always coffee and cookies at the front. The room is clean though a little old. The shared bathroom is very clean too. It is really worth the price. Most importantly it is just a short walk to havard square, super convenient. I will be back.

It’s like staying in a boarding house in a tiny room and a shared bathroom. I never had a problem with access to the bathroom except one morning I had to wait a few minutes. It was always clean so no problem there. The only true difficulty was the parking. They definitely describe it well enough; however I found myself in a bear panic attack trying to get into a spot (my car is small compared to the others) and I thought I was really going to be stuck or scrape or hit another car. I never had the breakfast due to my schedule and not having a morning appetite so unable to comment there. The location is excellent as it’s within walking distance to Harvard university, Harvard Square and the T station to go into Boston.

Could not control air conditioning the entire night. Turned on every 3 min at full blast.

Could not control ac. It was at like full blast while it was 15 Celsius outside

Why did the ac turn on every 3 min? I could barely sleep and it was freezing. I called the front desk and they said they would do something about but they didn’t nothing at all.
