Honolulu Pride
About This Event
Honolulu Pride is Hawaii's biggest queer street event, and unlike most US Prides it takes place in October rather than June. It is produced by the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation, and Hawaii News Now broadcasts the parade live.
The parade starts at Magic Island in Ala Moana, goes down Kalakaua Avenue through Waikiki and ends at Kapiolani Park. A free festival follows at the Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell, with more than 70 community booths and vendors and live entertainment. Through the week there are also ticketed parties, brunches and pool events, and these change from year to year. The parade and festival are free. Kalakaua is closed and crowded in the afternoon, so walk or take the bus rather than drive.
Hawaii News Now traces the first Honolulu Pride march to 1974, when about two dozen people took part. The 2025 parade was on Saturday 18 October, with thousands of people from more than 130 businesses and community groups.
The 2026 parade is on Saturday 17 October from 3 to 6 p.m., with lead-up events earlier that week. The final festival schedule is posted by the foundation.
