About this place KineticArchitecture Dance Theatre

KineticArchitecture Dance Theatre, a New York City-based LGBTQ+ arts organization, has been making new dance since 1994.

Founders Arrie Davidson and Shannon-Kayne Amoureux are known for a specific kind of partnering, a sculptural and sensual choreography that pulls from Buster Keaton's physical comedy and the quiet exactness of Butoh dance. They want their work to be athletic and look good, always moving forward, and they use it to talk about relevant social issues.

You'll find them on Chrystie Street in Manhattan's Lower East Side. This is where to go for contemporary dance that doesn't just stick to the usual steps. The company mixes gymnastic precision with close-up partnering, making shows that are technically sharp and actually move you.

If you're in New York looking for dance that’s progressive and celebrates queer artistry, KineticArchitecture has a perspective you won't find everywhere else.

It's the kind of cultural spot where you can see modern choreography that still feels connected to New York's long dance history. Check their website for what’s playing.

After searching online for a flash mob, I found Kinesis project and my search stopped. Melissa and Madeline catered to my every need and made this proposal a dream come through. They were very responsive and helpful with the planning. They made me a part of it and communicated throughout. They were even taking my calls just to tone down my anxiety. They made my occasion special and weren’t just about money. They put their heart and soul into the event. They are just simply amazing and I am glad that I chose them for this special day. Can’t wait to see how much more they impact the lives of everyone who needs that special event.
