Unfortunately, this hotel is permanently closed. They are no longer excepting reservations and the phone number no longer works. Sad to see it go. Was a nice hotel.

I’m currently stuck in the bathroom of the Moxy Oakland and they can not get into my room to free me. The lady trying to release me just said on the phone to a colleague that “someone is stuck in their room again”. This is clearly something that happens regularly. Update: When I was finally released the woman made it seem as though I was stupid for not being able to open the very stuck barn door from the inside. Don’t stay here.

We stayed at the Moxy in downtown Oakland for a few days, and Drew made our whole experience amazing. We got relocated from another hotel really late at night, and she went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of and even upgraded us to a really nice room. From the start, she had the best energy and personality! She made our daughter feel so welcome, gave her a couple of little treats, and was just so kind and friendly every single time we saw her. She even entertained us at the bar one evening. She's such a vibe! The hotel itself is beautiful and funky with such a cool atmosphere. The rooms are super clean, cute, and thoughtfully designed. We loved the whole vibe of the place. Honestly, people like Drew are what make a hotel special. She turned what started as a stressful night into such a great stay.

I love this place, bit of a sketchy neighborhood. Close to music venues. Going to see My Favorite Murder live at the Paramount!

Terrible terrible place to stay. When we first arrived we were told we had to pay for our room again after already paying in full through booking.com. I showed receipt of payment made in full and still had the receptionist extremely rude and hostile to us. Then the room itself had a screeching noise coming from the ac ALL night so we were unable to use the unit and slept in 85 degree temps. After checking out we were charged $145 for parking for 17 hours of parking. When it reads online $41 per 24 hours of parking so how does that make sense? Then when calling to dispute with these people yet again, they were rude! And I still have not received my refund. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
