About this place Equality House

Equality House is the rainbow-painted house at 1200 SW Orleans Street, directly across the road from Westboro Baptist Church. The non-profit Planting Peace bought it and painted it in the colours of the Pride flag in March 2013 as an answer to the church's anti-gay pickets, and it has been a photo stop ever since. It works as a small community centre with a garden and is open to visitors; Visit Topeka includes it on its Pride page. Be respectful of the residential street, and do not engage with anyone from the church opposite.
