Cyrus Hotel, Topeka, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Cyrus Hotel in Topeka. The problems started with the food service. The food we received was not prepared properly, and I made a complaint about it. The manager later stated that I had complained about the food, which leads me to believe that is what prompted him to come to my room. At approximately 9:30 a.m., well before checkout time, the manager knocked on my door and attempted to remove me from the property. He claimed there had been a noise complaint, yet I never received a phone call, warning, or any notice about excessive noise, and there was no one else in my room. When I asked for clarification, the explanations did not make sense and seemed to change during the conversation. The manager was rude, confrontational, and unprofessional. He even mentioned having a good relationship with local law enforcement before calling the police. Police were then contacted, and I was threatened with trespassing despite still being a registered guest and not yet being past checkout time. What should have been a simple complaint about improperly prepared food turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Instead of addressing a guest concern, management appeared more focused on removing the guest who raised it. I would not recommend this hotel based on the way this situation was handled.

Nice boutique feel. Some cute shops and restaurants within the block, very walkable. Parking garage situation felt sketchy at night for a single woman checking in but was well lit and signage very clear. Friendly check in staff, good restaurant in the lobby with a pretty standard buffet breakfast but excellent a la carte menu which was available to me as a platinum member. They were prompt and helpful with any phone call to the front desk. Rooms look modern, nice higher ceilings, very nice bathroom fixtures and toiletry amenities. Comfy beds. The room has a roller type black out shade that doesn't fully block the sun around the edges of the window and the metal chain that lowers the shades rattles constantly in the a/c. I had to get up in the night and wrap socks around the chain to stop the noise. We are staying for a swim meet and this hotel is less than 10 min from the pool , central location is easy to get in and out.

Always exceptional service and the restaurant here is one of my favorites, period. The chefs are all amazing, but major shouts out to Grant (hope i got the name right) for always taking care of me for breakfast and always going above and beyond. I wish I got the gentleman's name who works front desk most evenings bc he also is always going above and beyond with the biggest smile on his face. But honestly, I havent interacted with anyone working at this hotel who isnt super nice and dedicated to making sure all your needs are met. Hats off to the Cyrus staff👏🏼

Really nice hotel. I enjoyed my stay and came here for business; I definitely will stay again. I've heard not to look at the pictures of Cyrus, though, especially if he comes out of the picture over your bedroom. There are pictures of Cyrus everywhere. Really, you've got to be careful of Cyrus. If this happens to you, don't look at him.

Kind of a magic place in Topeka. I'd recommend to stay here.
