We had the most incredible experience here!!! The staff is helpful, kind, and proactive and both the lobby and the rooms are gorgeous! They have really nice bathtubs, showers, and amenities and housekeeping was incredible, with full turndown service if you would like it. We had an absolutely incredible stay - the Magnolia is right in the heart of downtown Victoria and less than 10 mins to Chinatown, the Clipper, and so much more. What an absolutely fantastic hotel with wonderful staff! This was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement! 💖💖💖

A worthwhile splurge If you are trying to decide between the Magnolia and its iconic neighbor, this hotel is a far better value for the experience you will have. Our stay at the Magnolia Hotel made our Victoria weekend trip better in every way. We reserved a corner room that had a great view of the parliament and a peekaboo view of the harbor. Our room was spacious and had plenty of seating. I’m not usually one to pay much attention to hotel bathrooms, but this one was so beautiful and stocked with everything L’Occitane, along with a Dyson hairdryer and really soft towels. We rented e-bikes as a complimentary hotel amenity. Had they not been free, we may not have tried them, and it turned out to be such a fun way to spend our afternoon and cover a lot more ground than we could on foot. The hotel also has preprinted curated maps of different bike and walking routes—fantastic idea. I used one the next day to do some shopping. This hotel feel small and intimate, and all the staff are friendly and personable to hotel guests. It made us feel special, and the attention was natural and not overdone. Duncan, in particular, gave us great recommendations and made us some restaurant reservations places we may not have found on our own. We didn’t get to the hotel restaurant; wasn’t our vibe for some reason, but clearly everyone raves about it. We’ll try it when we come back. Our employers don’t pay for our travel or help us earn hotel points, so it means more when we have a special experience like this all on our own.

Beautiful hotel

This was my first time staying at this hotel (March 31, April 1, 2026), and also my parents' first time. Absolutely amazing service, amenities, and environment. All the small touches (such as fresh drinks in the lobby, the Nespresso in the rooms as well as the lobby), and all the large touches (we all had gas fireplaces), made this stay very memorable. It was my mom's 80th birthday, and the hotel/staff ensured we were valued. We also loved the breakfast at The Courtney Room (part of the hotel). My dad is usually very picky and doesn't like anything, but even he remarked it was some of the best waffles he's ever had !! Thank you so much to our hostess Ali for treating us with friendly exceptional personal service both mornings. We were also at the hotel with my sister and her husband, who have stayed here several times (it's actually their favorite hotel in Victoria). Bill Lewis (General Manager) communicated so thoroughly with my sister to ensure that our 3 rooms were exactly what we needed and more, thank you so so much. Any time I'm in Victoria, I will definitely stay here. Very close to the harbor, and it's in Victoria downtown, so it's extremely walkable, including to the iconic Chinatown. Thank you very much!

Loved our stay at this hotel! Property condition is pristine, staff is so friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is top notch. The parliament view Diamond room is the best. Loved the crab & citrus dish and the risotto at the Courtney Room - and wine director Jack was very helpful choosing the right wine. Breakfast was delicious. Location is right where you want to be in Victoria. We will be back!

My room was quiet and comfortable. All the extra touches make things nice like clothes steamer. I am against water bottles and like their environmental touch of water in a bottle.

Service was great overall. The folks at the front desk were always super nice, helpful, and sweet to my dog. The car valet's were prompt, but the customer service of one in particular felt really fake/he seemed to be in a weird or bad mood and he moved my car seat and didn't put it back how I had it. Staff at the restaurant were really kind and service was great. The room was decent - The bathtub had long, dark hairs on the wall. The shower door leaked water all over the floor. The hand held shower head holder/hand hold was very loose. The towels felt like I was using 180 grit sandpaper to dry off and some of them had light brown staining and/or dark brown spots on them. The hall closet doors were banged up and badly scratched across the front. The carpet was a bit dingy. The water bottle stopper looked old and worn out and stained. The other room we booked had a broken coffee maker - the pods just fell through and we could never get it to make coffee. The beds were clean and super comfy, the pillows were very soft, but comfy, and you might need two if you prefer a firm pillow. The rest of the room was clean and tidy. And the complimentary sugar cookies were awesome.
