BV Bar is Shenzhen's most consistently referenced gay venue — a bar operating in the Futian commercial district that has served the city's LGBTQ+ community for several years. Shenzhen's particular demographic character shapes the bar: the clientele is disproportionately young, educated and from the technology and creative sectors that dominate the city's economy. The atmosphere is relaxed and the bar is operated with the general understanding that discretion is appropriate. DJ sets on weekends; cocktails throughout.
