I recently stayed for 9 nights while traveling solo and I usually do a ton of research before booking hotels because there’s a lot to consider. I often stay in pensions and smaller business hotels, but really wanted some space on this trip because I’m getting old and tired. After thoroughly considering 28 hotels, I booked here based on room size, breakfast, laundry, location and price. The Deluxe King room was perfect- absolutely spacious for one person and would also be really comfortable for two. The bed and bathroom were both good, as well. And it comes with an actual closet! With doors! Because I’m the type who unpacks and settles in. The second thing I look for in a hotel is the breakfast because I use it daily and Ibis offers a great variety every morning. I never got tired of it. I can’t speak to the western food items because Japanese food is too delicious to pass up, but I saw plenty of non-Westerners eating them, plus there’s the salad bar. So, lots of options! Laundry machines are also a requirement because I’m too cheap to use send-out laundry services and I’m too lazy to use off-site laundromats. Ibis has three washers and dryers at 300 yen to wash and 100 yen for a 30 minute dry. I used them twice and they were fine in terms of availability and ease. And didn’t grind my clothes to death (which I have had happen). I usually needed to dry my clothes for an hour but that’s because, honestly, I always put too much in the washer. I’m used to American-sized loads. The location was great. I thought I’d walk around Nakajima Koen more than I did, but you can’t beat having both a subway station and the airport limousine bus one block away. So very useful! Of course, the subway is crazy during rush hours so it is always nice to be able to easily walk over to Odori or Susukino. Just straight down one very long street! Also, the Lawson attached to the hotel lobby was really convenient. So I don’t come off as too Pollyanna-ish, there are three minor things to consider- 1) only one microwave for the entire hotel and it’s in the lobby right near the Lawson entrance. Now, it could be I was the only one to ever use it so maybe it wouldn't make sense to have more. It’s just a little weird to be heating up your snack in a lobby of guests waiting to check in. 2) there aren’t any USB ports in the room. Which is fine for me because I always bring a socket charger anyway. And, 3) the height of the bathtub is a little high in that you really have to be able to lift your legs over the edge to get into the shower. I should have measured it. Just something to keep in mind for the elderly, mobility impaired or the super young. For all this, the price was an amazing value! Of course, I did book early (like , 6 months early). But I’m really glad I chose this hotel over the other ones. It was definitely a very good match for me. And the staff were always kind and helpful. And definitely worked hard. I would re-stay at this location if in Sapporo again and I would consider other Accor hotels now, as well.

It's good value for money when traveling with three people. It's closer to the center of Susukino than expected. About a 3-5 minute walk?

There's a Lawson downstairs with a connecting passageway, which is quite convenient. It's very cold, so there's no need to go out. It's a bit far from the last underground passage in Tanukikoji, so you have to walk a bit. But the room is quite spacious, so I recommend it.

Although it was old, the bed and bedding were comfortable and nice.
