Sherborne Motor Lodge

I stayed at Sherborne Motel for two nights for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The room was very spacious, with a large bathroom that had all the essential amenities. The kitchen was also generously sized and well-equipped, with great cooking facilities and complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate sachets. What truly made the stay special was the exceptional hospitality from Rick and Ricki. They go above and beyond with their kindness, friendliness, and genuine willingness to help in any way. I highly recommend this place — you definitely won’t regret staying here!

They said check-in was until 10 PM, so I felt at ease even though I had a late-night flight. The owner was incredibly kind, the room was clean and spacious, and best of all, the spacious kitchen was incredibly convenient and great. I highly recommend this place to anyone who cooks. The sink is spacious and has everything you need, making it feel like home.

Great location just 1 street away from bus stop to CBD, large room with all the amenities and comfy beds. Owner Rick is top tier, genuine and happy to help with everything - offered to pick us up from city with and drop off at the airport bus stop when we checked out early and left luggage at motel.

I stayed at many accommodations during my trip to New Zealand, and this one was one of the most memorable. As a motel, the facilities aren't fancy or large, but it's incredibly well-maintained and thoroughly clean. I called because I thought I'd be arriving a little late, and they immediately replied that it would be fine as long as I wasn't arriving after 10 PM (if they were, they asked me to let them know in advance). Upon arrival, the very friendly Rick gave us a thorough tour of our room. When we told him we were from Korea, he even gave us a pamphlet for a local Korean restaurant. He seemed like a friendly local who'd be happy to help us with any local information we might need. We had children with us, and he greeted them warmly. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils, pots, and dishes, and it was much cleaner and better maintained than other motels I've seen, so we were able to cook right away. The bathroom was also incredibly clean and spotless (even the exhaust fan was dust-free!). The bed was comfy, the view of the trees outside the window was beautiful, and the location was just a short walk to the city center. I had previously stayed at a really bad place in Christchurch, but this place was so great that I was very happy. I highly recommend it.

Google review Quite literally the best motel I’ve stayed in. Rooms were clean, spacious and had everything you would ever need. Kitchenette was well stocked, carpark lots were plentiful, and there was even a jacuzzi hot tub in the room! Very grateful to Rick, the most hospitable, kind host one could ever ask for. He consistently went out of his way to make guests feel welcome and was tremendously helpful. Even sending me to the airport since it was on his way to buy linen from a nearby shop! I hope to be back soon and would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Christchurch!

Awesome accommodation, clean and all our beds met. Rick’s service was over and beyond!! We had dinner out, restaurants and hotel less than 5 minutes away. Walked into the city, only 20 minutes (30 min if slow). Do yourself a favour, it’s the place to stay. 😊👏

Friendly easy going. Nice rooms, nice we shopping center butchery, bakery pub and restaurants just up the rd
