Ghent Film Festival — Queer Strand

<p>Ghent’s International Film Festival, which started in 1974, usually has queer cinema in its main competition and themed sections. It doesn't cordon off LGBTQ+ films; they’re just part of the program, which tells you a lot about Ghent itself. The city weaves queer culture into its everyday life, instead of setting it apart.</p>

<p>For anyone who cares about queer film, it’s a good combination: serious movies in a seriously beautiful city. It runs through October at different venues downtown.</p>
