We stayed at this hotel for the last two nights of our tour of Ireland. It couldn't be in a more handy location than this: right on the riverfront, and only a few minutes walk from the city centre shops, museums and sightseeing. It's an old hotel, but the downstairs rooms, which include two small lounge areas close to the reception, have colourful modern decor and seating. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival, with someone posted at various points along the corridors to help us with directions. You have to use your key card to open the fire door leading to the stairs up to the bedrooms, but that only made the hotel feel all the more safe. Porter service was very quick and efficient, and there's also a lift. My first floor room, at the end of a warren of corridors, was fairly basic, but it was clean, quiet and comfortable, and had everything I needed: nice double bed, flatscreen TV, free WiFi, fan, teamaking facilities, and a large ornate mirror. Lovely spacious walk-in shower. The dinners were in a large and elegant restaurant with beautiful pictures on the walls. We were offered a complimentary drink on the first evening. Meals were well prepared and beautifully presented, with generous servings. The salmon fillet on the first evening was a bit overcooked, but the traditional beef and Guinness stew I had on our second night was hearty and very flavoursome. Good variety of veg, and luscious desserts! The wine was reasonably priced. Breakfasts were well cooked, no frills but satisfying nevertheless. Loved the Flahavan's porridge with honey! There's a lively bar that had Irish entertainment and a singalong on our first night. Although the hotel was very busy, the reception staff and waiters could not have been more friendly and hospitable. Altogether a very pleasant stay!

Had an excellent stay here at Dooley’s for a weekend away! Room rate was very reasonable for what we got and the staff were lovely when checking in and out. It has an excellent location close to everything. I would recommend a stay here if you’re coming to Waterford.

Me and my partner had a great time at Dooleys. Everyone was lovely and the rooms were nice and spacious. The location was also great facing the river and a five minute walk from the centre of Waterford

A gem of a hotel in the heart of Waterford. Friendly helpful staff. Spotless, spacious room. Great Irish Beakfast and great entertainment in the Bar.

Rooms are standard but clean, and comfortable. The real star are the staff and the restaurant

Its a shame there is no carpark and it costs €12 for 24 hours in nearby public carpark. No gym in hotel either. But its an old fashioned charming hotel with comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
