The Stadspark, the big green lung southwest of the city centre, has been a known homo-ontmoetingsplaats for decades. Activity concentrates in the quieter wooded stretches away from the main paths, mostly in the evening and after dark. Dutch law only permits this out of public view, and unlike Rotterdam there is no official tolerance policy in Groningen - authorities have actively closed down other meeting spots in the region - so keep it strictly discreet, respect other park users, and take the normal safety precautions for any nighttime meeting spot.

What a super cool campsite close to the city of Groningen! Do bring your bike! You're in the city within 15 minutes! Very spacious pitches! Delicious rosé for sale there! It was nice that we could choose between a fancy dinner or just going to the snack bar! Mmm, the egg ball! Very friendly owners! Highly recommended!

Good campsite. Sanitary facilities were okay. There's a restaurant (which I didn't use). The town center is a 3.3 km walk away. Shopping is about 2 km away.
