Secret Encounter is the quiet achiever of the Benidorm village: a traditional, back-to-basics gay pub on Calle Sant Roc, opened in the 2023 era by the people behind the long-running Brief Encounter, and it shows in the details - warm welcome, fair prices and a room built for conversation rather than spectacle. The interior is cozy rather than flashy, the staff set a genuinely friendly tone, and the crowd is a mix of village regulars and visitors who found it once and keep coming back. No shows, no gimmicks - it is a proper pub that happens to be gay, which in a resort town full of cabaret is its own kind of luxury. It opens daily at 5pm and runs to around 1:30am, and its spot a couple of streets off the Santa Faz-Alacant triangle makes it the natural quiet-pint stop on any Old Town crawl.

Lovely friendly bar. Bar staff were so welcoming and friendly. Aircon hit perfectly and tunes were good. Only stopped for a couple as we were on a bar crawl, but would make it a spot to revisit on my next holiday.
