About this place The Tipsy Cow

The Tipsy Cow is a sports and party bar at 85-89 Blandford Street, on the edge of Newcastle's Pink Triangle around Times Square and the Centre for Life. It is a gay-friendly mainstream bar, not a gay bar as such, but it hosts drag brunches and party nights that bring in a mixed crowd. Big screens show live sport the rest of the time. Its Google rating is 4.4 from about 80 reviews. The main gay bars on Westmorland Road and Scotswood Road are a few minutes' walk away. Drag brunches tend to sell out, so book those in advance.

⭐⭐ We visited Tipsy Cow before heading off on the Newcastle Prosecco Bike, which was absolutely fantastic and such a good laugh! 🥂🚲 Tipsy Cow itself was lovely, the drinks were great and we had a really nice time. Unfortunately, one of our group overheard a member of staff referring to us as “common as muck” because we were from Scarborough. We found this really unnecessary and quite insulting, especially as we were there to enjoy a hen do and have a good time. It’s a real shame because we otherwise enjoyed the venue and the drinks were lovely. Unfortunately, hearing comments like that from staff has left us not wanting to return, which is disappointing as we would have happily visited again.

The only bar I know that the staff is more bothered about playing bingo then serving customers! As for being called 'Pub and GRUB' they do not even serve food unless you call a pack of crisps GRUB.
