We are in town from B.C. and this was our first meal out and what a great choice that was. Andrew (from Master Chef!!) was really fun and served up a fantastic brunch. Awesome was to start our trip out east.

Enjoyed bunch at aFrite and was not disappointed. My wife's favourite brunch fish is Chicken & Waffles and she enjoyed their take on it; the cardamom syrup and the chorizo gravy adding interesting twists to a classic dish. However, I am a degenerate and went straight for The End Of Day; a monstrous serving of the Chicken & Waffles with added bacon, poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. It was the right choice; a rich and delicious combination of all the best parts of the brunch menu. Everything worked so well together, even if it's an ill-advised way to start the day. A calm, bright aesthetic and friendly service from bartender Dave rounded out the experience; we especially appreciated him making a DIY, fresh iced tea for my pregnant wife. Great spot, great service; would heartily recommend.

Went for lunch today and shared 3 mains. The donair gnocchi, butter chicken, and the crispy ginger pork & Singapore style rice. Each one was absolutely delicious and the service was top tier level. Amazing how folks line up for food at the hospitality group restaurants along the waterfront when independent restaurants like aFrite are serving up food ten times better and only steps away. Can’t wait to go back again!
