Carla Moore is an artist, activist, academic, alchemist, and an Assistant Lecturer at the Institute for Gender and Development Studies, Mona Campus Unit. Her research, activism, curriculum development, content creation, event curation, and coaching focus on personal and community liberation through decolonial praxis. Most importantly, she grapples with what it might feel like to be free ✊🏾💭
This session is an invitation to consider the meaning and the feeling of liberation — not just as aspiration, but as a thing that may carry imperialist debris. Through an exploration of personal experience (Carla’s and yours), art, and Caribbean feminist thought, our facilitator invites us to grapple with pleasure, queerness, and our hopes for communities and lives that are free 🌈🫱🏾🫲🏿🎨📚
