About this place Hawkers Asian Street Food

Hawkers Asian Street Food is a branch of the Florida-born chain, on Auburn Avenue in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward. The menu is built around small plates drawn from Malaysian, Thai, Chinese, Korean and other street-food traditions, designed for sharing, at low prices. It is a gay-friendly mainstream restaurant, not a gay venue. With more than 3,600 Google reviews averaging 4.6, it is busy at dinner and on weekends, so expect a wait. The Beltline Eastside Trail is close by, and Midtown's gay bars are a short drive away, which makes it a sensible stop before a night out.

A new fave spot! Redbull, our server, was phenomenal and kind, and the food was delicious! Counting down until I can come back and try something else 🤤

Atmosphere was great, though about 15 wait.

I had such a fantastic time here. The atmosphere is cozy and unique, especially with the newspaper print lining the tables. Everything felt fresh, vibrant, and incredibly flavorful. The chicken bao was a standout, perfectly cooked and presented beautifully with those little bamboo skewers. I also loved the rice bowl, which had a great variety of toppings and a perfectly fried egg right on top. This is a gem in the neighborhood that I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Service was terrible, food wasn't much better. Roti was great, everything else wasn't worth it. Given all the great choices on Buford Hwy, shocked by other reviews of this place. Chicken satay was worst dish- came out cold. Sticky ribs were decent, chicken bao was dry, flavorless. The bowls were a hit - maybe stick to their bread and rice dishes. Service was worst part of the experience. Never saw our server after ordering - ran out of water, never offered another round of drinks, food came out cold like it sat at the window forever. Given the food quality and poor service, I don't recommend and won't be back

Hawkers was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, flavors were incredible, had a nice little kick and everything I tried was so good. It’s definitely worth the stop!
