About this place Boston Medical Center - Harrison Ave.

Boston Medical Center is a big hospital in the South End, a major resource for LGBTQ+ people looking for medical care. It's a teaching hospital, tied to Boston University School of Medicine, so you'll find everything from primary care to specialty procedures and emergency services. What makes it stand out is its stated commitment to affirming healthcare for LGBTQ+ patients. Staff here are trained in culturally competent and inclusive care practices. This is a large, established medical facility. Think modern diagnostic and treatment equipment. They have specialists in just about every medical discipline, making it a place you could go for anything from a routine checkup while you're in Boston to a planned procedure. Given its size, you'll have access to a lot of specialists and support services. You'll find it on Harrison Avenue, in Boston's medical corridor. For LGBTQ+ travelers who need medical services while in the city, Boston Medical Center is a solid choice because of that institutional commitment to the community. Check their website for specific services and providers.

The service is horrible. I needed my medication again and needed the request sent to my insurance company. I started calling almost a month in advance, and every time I called, they said I hadn't requested the medication and that they had no record of my previous calls. I asked for the call recording, and they said there was nothing. Why so much ineptitude and dishonesty? It's not like they're giving it to us for free. I haven't been able to transfer to Mass General because they're not accepting new patients, but as soon as I can, I'm leaving BMC. Truly the worst in patient service and meeting their needs.
