da Playground Maui is a mainstream live-music and dance club on Maalaea Road, between Kihei and Wailuku, about a 20-minute drive from Kihei. It is gay-friendly rather than a gay bar: most nights are DJs, live bands, comedy or karaoke for a mixed crowd. It has also been the main home for Maui's LGBTQ+ nightlife, with a recurring drag show and LGBTQ+ dance parties. Maui has no full-time gay bar, so those nights are the nearest thing to one on the island. Dates and cover charges change by event, so check the club's social media before driving over. You will need a car or a taxi back.

Bought 3/13/2026 ticket online, but found out it was closed arriving at the door. Update: (3/20 )They reached out quickly after this comment here, which I appreciate. I didn’t receive any email nor message notifications when I bought the ticket through IG ADs directly though. Wish they could fix this issue for any future customers.

This is the worst place ever. Wouldn’t let us in even though we paid for admissions and bottle service. Said they were at capacity even though they were no where close to it. Supposedly young joc was supposed to come but never did. Stay far away
