About this place da Playground Maui

da Playground Maui is a live-music and dance club at 300 Maalaea Road in Wailuku, about a 20-minute drive north of Kihei, and it doubles as the island's main hub for queer nightlife. The mixed, all-ages-friendly room runs a busy calendar of DJs, live bands, comedy and karaoke, and it anchors Maui's LGBTQ+ social scene with two recurring events: a drag show on the last Sunday of each month and an LGBT dance party every second Thursday. Because Maui has no full-time gay bar, these nights are the closest thing the island has to a regular gay club, drawing a friendly crowd of locals and visitors. Check the venue's social channels before you go, as the schedule and cover vary by event.

Bought 3/13/2026 ticket online, but found out it was closed arriving at the door. Update: (3/20 )They reached out quickly after this comment here, which I appreciate. I didn’t receive any email nor message notifications when I bought the ticket through IG ADs directly though. Wish they could fix this issue for any future customers.

This is the worst place ever. Wouldn’t let us in even though we paid for admissions and bottle service. Said they were at capacity even though they were no where close to it. Supposedly young joc was supposed to come but never did. Stay far away
