QDoc Film Festival presents: JARIPEO
About the event
OPENING NIGHT: JARIPEO
Set amid the Christmas jaripeo tradition in Michoacán, JARIPEO finds queer life and desire thriving within a world defined by rodeo, ritual and machismo. Filmmakers Efraín Mojica and Rebecca Zweig weave vérité, Super 8 and memory into an intimate, visually intoxicating portrait of queerness finding its place within tradition.
We’ll kick off the night with a special live performance before the film.
Friday, October 23 at 7PM | Cinema 21
Opening Night is kindly sponsored by Brian Carr (Brian Carr) & Thomas LaPierre (helloimthomas) and Stacey Banahan (staceybanahan)
