About this place Lion and the Rose Victorian Guest House

Lion and the Rose is a Victorian-style bed and breakfast located in Portland's Northeast 15th Avenue area, just 1.2 km from the Oregon Convention Center. The property offers a welcoming atmosphere for LGBTQ+ travelers visiting Portland, combining the charm of a historic Victorian setting with contemporary conveniences. Guest rooms feature flat-screen TVs and complimentary WiFi throughout the property, with some units including a comfortable seating area. Thoughtful amenities include bathrobes, free toiletries, and hairdryers in each room. The bed and breakfast takes a seasonal approach to breakfast service: from November through April, guests enjoy a European-style continental breakfast, while the May through October period features a full breakfast offering. This makes it an especially appealing choice for visitors timing their stay with Portland's warmer months. Staying at a gay-friendly bed and breakfast like this one provides a more personalized alternative to larger hotel chains, often with a stronger sense of community and local character. Portland's Northeast neighborhood offers convenient access to the city's attractions while maintaining a residential feel. Whether you're visiting for business near the convention center or exploring Portland's vibrant LGBTQ+ scene, this Victorian guest house provides a comfortable base with practical amenities and welcoming service.

Very cozy and welcoming! Steve and Dusty are SUPER friendly and enjoy helping their guests enjoy the visit. Loved the experience and the room (we stayed in the Lovanna). The history of the house and the comfort is relaxing enough to enjoy the entire time...but my husband insisted that we get out and experience the city. There's plenty of shops and food options within walking distance (great ones). Plenty of city transportation available close by if you want to go further (we were able to use a combination of rail cars and buses to go to Multnomah Falls). EXCELLENT experience with a great location! These two were meant to host a Bed and Breakfast...they really recognize how to assist the guest without invading their privacy, perfect! Come here to relax and enjoy!

This was a lovely stay within Portland. The welcome was warm and the room was elegant. It was a fun stay, being in a Victorian mansion and looking at all of the decorations and history. My mom and I enjoyed it very much!
