Wow, Alina and her team worked so hard to accommodate us! We were a large group of middle school students, and she was in touch with us for months to orchestrate details to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She bought new items just for our stay, had good recommendations for activities to do and places to eat, and was extremely available to be as helpful as possible during our night in Providence. So grateful to this place, so glad we were able to stay here!!
Update: I stayed again with my friend and we loved it even more this time. It seems they really spruced up the place. We had a spacious private room upstairs with one queen bed and single bed. Amazing homey hostel. Old review: Great hostel! As clean and cozy as a Bed and Breakfast but priced like a hostel (my friend and I paid just $35 each for a bed). Really clean bathrooms...and huge kitchen where we cooked dinner with other guests. We came for the weekend from nyc, and this place was so welcoming and homey. I like that their dorms have only 4 beds, and appreciated the flexible checkout (we had our bus back to nyc at 7pm and stayed in their common area till 6 pm). Alina, Joe and the volunteers were super friendly. 20 min walk to downtown and you really can't beat their price! Among the best hostels I stayed in.
Great location, very clean bathrooms and common areas, and the staff was very friendly. I stayed in a small private room upstairs and had a nice skylight window that opened onto the Moon and starry night. My bed was very comfortable, with a nice firm (but comfy) mattress, fluffy pillows and cotton sheets. The label actually said “organic cotton,”and it felt like it. Honestly, it was exceptional quality for being a “hostel.” Just a short walk to downtown and Brown and RISD Univeristy.
Wonderful and very friendly hostel, the staff was so nice. I loved that their livingroom and bathrooms (and everywhere!) was so clean. Also, I love that this is a hostel that still has nice COTTON sheets on the beds. It’s a minor detail but an important one: I personally love cotton sheets. I can’t stand the polyester sheets that I’m finding everywhere else nowadays. Great location, just 15 min walk to downtown and to amtrack train station, where I arrived from NYC.
If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would. My time at the Providence Hostel and Guesthouse was truly a heartwarming experience. Not only did I have great conversations with all of my roommates, but I also spent an extended and personal amount of time with the Owner Alina and her daughter. There were also different accommodation options if you preferred to have your own room. I had such a delightful time in the facilities as well. The common area was a fantastic space to work, study, play games, rest, and also chat with other guests. The kitchen and bathrooms provided everything I needed. I had fantastic Vietnamese and Mexican food in the surrounding block, and all the sights and action of Providence were a short walk away. 10/10 will stay here again. Thank you Alina for everything.
One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Alina and John were incredibly attentive, and Adelaila is the sweetest and most wonderful roommate you could ask for. The shared common areas are spacious, perfect for socializing or enjoying some privacy. The hostel has everything you need (and more!) in its kitchen. The bathrooms are always spotless. Excellent location in the beautiful city of Providence.
Convenient, very clean, attentive and helpful staff. Nice view of the beautiful capital building as you walk towards downtown Providence. Had a great stay, Elina and John were amazing hosts!
