Reading some of these reviews made me scratch my head! My husband & I went for the first time on Friday night, about 6:30pm, after hearing about it from a friend. We moved to Cape Coral in 2020 and were happy to find Cruisers there when we arrived. We're not big "bar" people but do enjoy a good drag show or Sunday Funday. In March, we moved to Port Charlotte and thought we'd check out other places. Purple Rhino was a complete change of pace!!🤯 With the piano music when we walked in, to the nice guys who said "hello" as we moved around... I actually saw 1 guy sitting alone, face in his phone, and felt sad for him! Everybody else was chatting, laughing, singing... Reminding me of one of my favorite bars in NJ or New Hope, PA where I grew up. The bartender was super nice, explained the membership policy and had a nice chat where he gave me the "scoop" 😜 We met another couple (lots of couples and groups inside and on the patio!) on our way out and now have plans to go back today, heard they have bingo on Sunday! 🙏🤞 It's definitely got an old bar vibe but it's intended to! Set in a strip of storefronts, on a busy corner, it's an oasis to this old fag 🤣 I'm 57 and have always enjoyed piano bars since my 20's in NYC (Marie's Crisis & The Townhouse😂) and pool table bars, so finding this surprising lil gem was SO welcome! More people should get off their phones and socialize again! The beers & drinks are cheap compared to the area, hubster & I had 5 beers between us and with the tip, we spent less than $30! Can't wait to go back!
This place is the only gay bar in town now and it is very friendly. The only thing negative I would say is that it smells bad. But the staff are amazing and always welcoming. Fun place to meet friends and have a drink.
Greatest private bar club. Come check it out up to 3 visits then join for just $5 monthly. Drinks a healthy pours and the staff is friendly.
