Worst hotel ever. Very unfriendly and incompetent staff.
My boyfriend and I chose the hotel through the Jochen Schweizer city break booking service. We were expecting a nice hotel where we would feel comfortable. But instead, we found a guesthouse with unprofessional staff, the smell of food and smoke everywhere, and the rooms were tastelessly decorated. We felt very uncomfortable and moved to another hotel. What a shame!
Groupon must be taking high commissions. In any case, the staff are behaving like old-fashioned robber barons. One wanted €10 because Friday is a public holiday in Austria (stay from Wednesday to Friday), while the other charged a "Service 2" fee of 175 DKK and four short-stay surcharges of 22 DKK each. It's also true that one of them was extremely unfriendly. (The other, however, was very friendly.) Dinner was included, which was very good, but offered reluctantly. "Promptly at 6:45 p.m. - or not at all," with the caveat that the staff wouldn't wait. Conclusion: I will think very carefully before booking through Groupon again.
We enjoyed it sooooooo much!!! We were initially skeptical because it's still advertised everywhere as a gay hotel, but I think the owner wants to distance herself from that image. A lovingly furnished, newly renovated room with a bright, welcoming bathroom completely won me over. The connection to the city is fantastic, as the metro station is less than 5 minutes away. From there, we were in the middle of Wenceslas Square in minutes (without any annoying transfers). The food was excellent!!! The breakfast had everything you need for a great start to the day. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even going above and beyond their usual duties. We will definitely go back there again!!!
Special Offer Menu The entire hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample. There was something for everyone, from those with a sweet tooth to those who prefer savory options. Fried and scrambled eggs were available upon request for an affordable 100 crowns (3.60 euros). The staff was very attentive and responsive to all guest questions, which greatly simplified planning our day. Overall, a highly recommended hotel.
Clean, friendly stuff
